Race: High Elf
Class: Wizard 5/Aristocrat 3
Alignment: Neutral Good
Faith: The Seldarine
Seldarra has been the light of freedom for the region for a very long time. While other kingdoms were conquered or forced into vassalage to the Samaran Empire, they stayed strong, fought for their freedom and won. It wasn’t just elven might that ensured these victories: a union of the races, each bringing their own values and worth, and all inspired by the values preached by the Seldarine. This union is at the heart of Seldarra, and none understand that better than Sundamar.
At 280 years old, Sundamar is unusually young for an elven head of state - in fact, he is the youngest to ever take the reins of Seldarra. He is determined, however, not to allow his youth to harm his nation. He is surrounded by a council of advisors that includes all the wisest men and women of Seldarra, and though the council’s constant deliberations cause decisions to come slow and intermittently, it at least ensures that the realm respects and appreciates the quality rulership they get.
To Sundamar’s mind, the true mark of an elf is not a matter of bloodline, but of spirituality. Those who are taken in as elf-friends and accepted by the Seldarine are to be treated no different from any full-blooded elf, given full rights and the run of the realm. Even non-elven individuals who do not convert, but nonetheless do live up to the elf-god’s valorous standards are to be accorded great respect. This may be the only issue where Sundamar is seen as something of a radical, taking the acceptance of other races to unusual lengths.
Before the advance of the Samaran Empire, Seldarra used to hold much vaster lands. The large inland lake, one shore of which bathes the elven nation, used to be entirely under their rulership, as well as a fair stretch of land all around it. Sundamar is outspoken about his intention to recover his nation’s original demesnes, but no explanation is yet given for what he intends to do with the hundreds of thousands of Samaran humans now living in that territory.
