In very distant antiquity, Valenpoint was a mystical land, a place of small but thriving queendoms, all united in their worship of Qamar. The sea was bountiful, the leaders were kind and wise, and wonders both subtle and awe-inspiring were commonplace. Theodora knows all this because her houses’ ancestral keep was built atop the ruins of one such queendom, and she’s roamed those forgotten ruins since childhood.
Perhaps she found something, delving for long hours into those forgotten ruins, or perhaps it had always been in her nature to become the kind of woman she turned out to be. Whatever the case, Theodora is now a woman wreathed in mystery. She rarely attends balls, but makes grand entrances and just as grand proclamations whenever she does. She dresses in long, flowing silks that seem to flutter in a phantom breeze, and bedecks herself with gemstones and crystals that glitter and shine with every movement. With every step, slippered feet barely touch the ground - she seems like she is not altogether of this world, but instead something more illusive, and more wondrous.
Despite how otherworldly and wondrous she is, Theodora still occasionally hires on adventurers and retainers. There are many ruins throughout Valenpoint, and she has a keen intent to have them all explored by adventurers who are both capable, and gifted with the gentle touch and respectful nature that such ancient wonders deserve. When she finds such groups, she tends to make herself their patron, giving them the information, resources and alliances they need to explore, while also rewarding them handsomely for any artifacts and knowledge brought back.
