Seen by many as more of a philosophy than a traditional deific religion, the Unbroken Circle is a set of teachings that have been passed down for millennia, with many sages - both affiliated to the faith and some who are not - claiming that it was founded by humans, at a time even before the kingdoms of the elves had risen.
Monkhood is at the heart of the faith, and most practitioners have spent at least some time in seclusion, devoting themselves to meditation, introspection and the development of wisdom and self-awareness. The Unbroken Circle places great emphasis on self-improvement, teaching followers to develop and better themselves in every way they can, mind, body and soul.
Slavery is seen as one of the highest affronts to the faith, and followers are known to travel great distances to participate in slave rebellions, free those held in bondage or undermine societies known to practice slavery, sometimes starting impromptu crusades they call a Rrakma. Even serfdom is seen with great suspicion, though no overt violence is known to have occurred concerning that practice in Valepoint.
There are several lamaseries devoted to the Unbroken Circle throughout Eryx and Faytan, and even one in the city of Valen itself. While many of the followers of the faith are monks or psions, this is not a universal fact. Just as many are commoners who only frequent the lamasery, having concluded their seclusion and meditation at some earlier time in their lives, or who plan to do so in future.
