Symbol: A green, tentacled head
Alignment: Lawful Evil
Portfolio: Tyranny, Mental dominion, Psionics
Domains: Tyranny, Mind, Mentalism, Fate
Favored Weapon: Whip
Divine Rank: 16
A common choice of conquerors, tyrants and slavers, Ilsensine is the only evil deity who is openly worshiped anywhere on Eryx and Faytan, yet is quite likely the most terrible of them all. The reason for this is simple: he is horrendously powerful, and so are his followers. Attempts to curtail the temples of Ilsensine or undermine its agenda usually backfire as the faith fights back with more power than even most nations could muster.
Some of the regions recently freed from the Samaran Empire in Eryx either turned to Ilsensine or were already followers before the imperial conquest. Now loose to enact their will, their slavers roam the seas, skies and the edges of civilization. Any person, be they a follower or not, is an acceptable target for slavery, with the only provision against this being simple force: those too powerful to be taken are ignored, while the weak suffer. Even this is only a temporary measure, as any nation ruled by a worshiper of Ilsensine is fated to turn on neighbors in open invasion as soon as they are powerful enough to hazard it.
There are no open temples of Ilsensine in Valenpoint, though that does not mean the faith is entirely absent. Underground cells of the faith exist in both Spinal and Valen, plotting and scheming to subvert and dominate the cities. In the Underdark below and Wildspace above, the faith is also strong and sometimes these separate sects manage to work together in vast plots of subversion and domination.
