As fierce a leader as she is a swordswoman, Josselyn fought in every major engagement of the war against the undead. Having arrived as the leader of a small unit of humanoid mercenaries, she soon made herself indispensable, and proceeded to prove her valor and loyalty to Valen several times over. Over years of warfare, she was granted ever greater rewards and rank, culminating with her being named Lady Lieutenant shortly before the final engagements in the war, as requested by her predecessor. In this new position, she had supreme authority over Valen’s armed forces, and arguably the second most important position in the city - during warfare, her power over the city-state was almost unlimited. Her superior leadership proved determinant in securing several important victories in the final months of the war that may otherwise have gone the other way.
Since the peace was established, and full powers returned to Connaith Farsailor, Josselyn has been fighting a constant struggle to allow veterans, herself included, to hold onto as much as they can. She has the ear of several men in Senate, and has been openly pushing for budget increases intended to create a new, superior Fleet and Army for Valen, as well as benefits for veterans and their bereaved.
Intelligent, competent and of birth lower than the lowliest peasant on Valen, Josselyn has a great deal of support from the masses, and the warriors who fought with her remember her leadership and are likely to follow her anywhere.
